AI interview prep & job search

Practice job interviews
out loud.

Reading questions in your head isn't practice. Dossier builds them from the actual job description, reads them aloud, and listens while you answer — then scores what you really said for structure, specificity, and filler words. It also decodes the listing before you apply, tailors your resume, writes the cover letter, and tracks the whole search. All in one app.

A practice interview, start to score

A question generated from the actual job, answered out loud, and scored on what you really said. Speech recognition and the voice run on your phone, so rehearsal audio is never uploaded; answers are scored in the cloud, as text.

One app, the whole search

Interview-ready first, then everything else

Most job-search tools stop at the application. Dossier runs the whole play — rehearse out loud, read the room, sharpen your pitch, and track it to the offer.

Interview prep with voice

Questions tailored to the JD, read aloud. You answer out loud; Dossier transcribes and coaches — STAR, specificity, filler words.

Real jobs, fresh

Browse openings pulled straight from company career pages and refreshed continuously — then rank them against your resume. No reposted, stale, or phantom listings.

Decode the JD

Corporate-speak, translated. Every requirement tagged must-have, preference, or nice-to-have — plus red flags and salary context.

Application tracker

Every analyzed job becomes a strategic dossier. Smart-sorted from Saved to Offer, with nudges when things go stale.

Resume review & tailoring

Import once. Get a general review, then JD-specific rewrites — ATS keywords, stronger bullets, and what to cut.

Cover letters

Role- and company-specific letters that map to the actual requirements — professional, never robotic. Regenerate on demand.

Private by design

No accounts. Your resume and interview answers stay on your phone. JD text is analyzed, never stored.

The part that actually decides it

Practice the interview out loud

Dossier generates behavioral, technical, and situational questions for the specific role, reads them aloud, and transcribes your spoken answer — all on-device. Then it coaches you.

  • Guided mode: feedback after every answer
  • Simulated mode: real pressure, feedback at the end
  • STAR adherence, specificity, and filler-word tracking
  • Speech recognition runs entirely on your phone
Dossier's session review after a practice interview: 3 of 3 answered, 100% STAR usage, 10 filler words, 7.0 specificity, a question breakdown with the spoken answer transcribed, and a Strong rating with a coaching note.
Real jobs, not reposts

Openings pulled straight from the source

The first thing you see is a live board of roles pulled directly from companies' own career pages — not scraped from aggregators. It refreshes continuously, so when a job comes down, it comes off the board.

  • Sourced straight from employer career pages — no reposted phantom listings
  • Continuously refreshed; closed roles drop off automatically
  • Every listing shows how long it's been open
  • Best Matches ranks openings against your imported resume
Dossier's Jobs tab: Browse and Best Matches, a search field, location and category filters, and a list of live openings with company, location and how long ago each was posted.
Read between the lines

See what they're really asking for

Job descriptions are written to sound good, not to be clear. Dossier translates them into plain language and shows you the subtext.

  • Requirements ranked must-have, preference, or nice-to-have
  • Red flags: missing info, unrealistic combos, vague scope
  • Salary context vs. market — with negotiation angles
  • A match score against your imported resume
Dossier's Analysis screen: a Red Flags list translating phrases like “small, fast-paced IT team” and “competitive salary commensurate with experience” into what they usually mean, followed by requirements tagged MUST or STRONG.
Never lose the thread

One strategic hub for every application

Cards sort themselves by priority — interviews float to the top, ghosted apps fade to the bottom. Each card holds the tailored resume, cover letter, prep, JD, notes, and a status timeline.

  • Saved → Applied → Interview → Offer, at a glance
  • Stale-application nudges so nothing slips
  • Everything for a job lives in one place
Dossier's Tracker: application cards sorted by priority, showing Interview, Phone Screen, Saved, Applied and Ghosted statuses, salary ranges, an upcoming interview date and a nudge on an application with three weeks of silence.
Tailored, not generic

Rewrite your resume for the job in front of you

Import your resume once (PDF, DOCX, or text). Get a general review that flags weak bullets and missing metrics — then per-job tailoring that speaks the listing's language.

  • ATS-optimized keywords pulled from the JD
  • Bullets rewritten to emphasize relevant wins
  • Clear guidance on what to add and what to cut
Dossier's Tailored Resume screen: missing keywords to add, then suggested rewrites showing each original bullet struck through, the reason it is weak for this listing, and the stronger replacement.

Privacy first

Your search is nobody's business but yours

Dossier has no accounts and no sign-ups. Your resume, notes, and interview transcripts are stored only on your device — there's no copy on our servers. When you run an AI feature, the relevant text (the job description, your resume, or a transcribed answer) is sent for processing and isn't kept after the response returns. No ads. No trackers. No analytics SDKs.

Good questions

Frequently asked

Where do the jobs in the app come from?

Dossier's Jobs tab pulls openings directly from companies' own career pages (their applicant-tracking systems) and refreshes them continuously — so listings are real and current, and roles drop off when they close. Coverage focuses on US and Canadian openings from companies on supported platforms, so it's a curated board rather than an exhaustive one. You can always paste any listing you find elsewhere to analyze it.

Does my resume get uploaded anywhere?

It's stored only on your device — there's no account and no copy on our servers. When you run an AI feature (importing a resume for parsing, a match score, a review, tailoring, or a cover letter), the resume text is sent to our server and passed to our AI providers — Anthropic for parsing, review, tailoring and cover letters; Novita AI for match scoring — to produce that result, and it isn't kept after the response comes back. Best Matches sends only your extracted skills list, never the resume itself. The file you import and its name never leave your phone.

Do I need to create an account?

Never. Dossier works the moment you open it — no sign-up, no email, no password. Subscription status is handled anonymously through your App Store or Google Play account.

How does the interview voice practice work?

Questions are generated for the specific role, then read aloud. You answer out loud and Dossier transcribes your response using on-device speech recognition — no audio ever leaves your phone. Guided mode gives feedback after each answer; Simulated mode saves it all for the end.

What does the free tier actually include?

One full voice interview practice session with scored feedback, three JD analyses per week, tracking for up to five applications at a time, a general resume review, one resume-tailoring demo, and one complete cover letter — not a blurred preview. It's a genuine taste of every core feature, not a locked shell.

What platforms is Dossier on?

iOS and Android. Dossier is built for the phone in your pocket during a job search — there's no desktop version.

Are there ads?

No ads on any tier — free or Premium. Dossier is funded entirely by its optional subscription.
